The global corporate communications team is responsible for managing and facilitating the flow of information at Nexans. This specific role is functionally reporting to the HR Director of D&U Canada, with a matrix report to the Director of Communications North America. The global corporate communications team handles all reputation management, internal communications, media and public relations, social media management, and executive communications for the group. This role will also work closely with the VP of the D&U Canada business unit.

 

GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION 

 

In this position, you will support and develop communications strategies, tools and events in order to increase employee engagement as well as to support Nexans’ business.

 

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

 

When working as a Content & Communication Manager, you will have the following operational responsibilities:

 

  • Write compelling and informative posts on industry trends, company updates, and relevant topics across platforms (website, social media, internal social network, etc.)
  • Develop engaging editorials and social media posts for executives that showcase thought leadership and expertise within the field
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders in the industry including but not limited to government officials, electricians, influencers.
  • Support events organization, ensure content consistency and coordinate logistical elements: Townhalls, Webcasts, Video/Photo shootings, Viewing parties, Team buildings…
  • Provide assistance to support function to build & implement their IC plans (HR, Cybersecurity, CSR, Risks, Compliance, Marketing, Production Sites)
  • Be part of project team as Internal Communications representative to embody Group and Business Group level initiatives such as Safety, Employee Engagement, Planet Week, Compliance Week, Diversity and Inclusion, Sustainability, Customer events.
  • Manage the Brand plant signage projects / design Lab-Show-room projects  to deploy and maintain high standard of visuals across the sites reflecting Nexans brand identity, values and vision.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Digital and social skills
  • Ability to think outside the box and bring innovative ideas to the table
  • Proficiency in creating content for various platforms, including blogs, social media, and presentations
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and content marketing strategies
  • Bachelor degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or related field (MBA is a plus)
  • Bilingual English & French an asset
