Purpose

 

  • The Pricing Analyst will assist in the implementation and ongoing improvement of best-in-class pricing processes to improve profitability through pricing management across the business unit.

 

  • The individual will be responsible for apply analytical methods and tools necessary to translate the data into clear, actionable insights. Moreover, the individual will manage day-to-day pricing operations and make recommendations to the Sales, Marketing, and Management regarding opportunities to maximize margins for both new and existing customers.

 

  • Supports Nexans marketing team on key Pricing/Analytical Marketing projects.

 

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:

 

Pricing analysis

  • Ensure implementation of pricing strategies and pricing accuracy within quotation tools to optimize results and assess pricing action effectiveness.
  • Follow-up indicators such as sales order in take, % success on quotes (“Hit rate”), cost variation, plant production capacity,.. to provide insights for pricing strategy evolution
  • Support preparation of Weekly / Monthly Pricing reviews and communicate key pricing insights across the organization
  • Provide market intelligence to support market size estimation, pricing of new offers and exchange data with external bodies such as EFC and Statistics Canada
  • Ad hoc analysis such as price change requests from sales team by evaluating margin impact and potential incremental volumes

 

Operational Pricing

 

  • Perform pricing for quotation or for customer(s) under Pricing manager delegation
  • Secure proper update of price lists, as well as accurate and timely customer pricing setup in SAP and communication of pricing to customers.
  • Ensure the accuracy of Customer Master, Item Master, Pricing Master, Commissions, Rebates, and Promotions in ERP system and period end analysis of variances.
  • Collect information and manage checklist of inputs required for large quotations or tenders
  • Cordinate with Finance/Sales team for metal hedging request and update pricing based on the hedging result

 

 

Methods and tools improvement

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop, improve and integrate new sales reporting tools to enable insights-driven decision support.
  • Maintain and improve existing Pricing Analysis Tool to reflect most up to date pricing guideline and policies
  • Assist with the development of pricing procedure and methodology

Desired skills and qualifications

 

  • University degree and minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in  FP&A, Pricing, Business Analysis, or any Analytical / Strategic field.
  • Master’s degree in Analytical Marketing/ Pricing/ Strategy /Data science preferred
  • Expertise in MS office suite – Advance MS Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros), Excel VBA Programming, Power BI dashboards, other Programming languages such as SQL, Python is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills: the ability to display quantitative information in tables, charts, PowerPoint presentations, and other forms of visual enhancements to the data.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams (eg: sales,engineer,finance,..)
  • High attention to detail, curious, proactive, and meticulous approach
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP) is an asset.
