Production Operator

We are looking for a skilled Production  Operator Automation  to set up, maintain and operate machinery. You’ll ensure the interminable and efficient running of production.

A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. On-the-job training is a good way to discover how to do the job better, so you should have willingness to learn and improve. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers.

The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.

 

  • Setup and operate multiple types of equipment in Providence plant
  • Effectively communicate with other operators and shift supervisors to solve production issues
  • Examine products for completion per specifications.
  • Report issues/ideas to Production Manager
  • Typically work 8 hour shifts, 5 days per week
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment on a daily basis
  • Meet expected safety guidelines
  • Produce quality products by following work instructions, SOP’s, and department head guidance
  • Adheres to all Nexans’ Safety Standards and Safe Work Practices.
  • Follows and abides by Nexans Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Standards.

Expected results

  • Manufacture cable per specifications
  • Achieve KPI’s for on time delivery, variances, and first pass yield
  • Create products for customers within expected time frame
  • Maintain accident free workplace

Required skills and qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Computer knowledge and skills
  • Ability to work a varied schedule with the possibility of overtime
  • Ability to use small hand tools and have eye hand coordination
  • Ability to become forklift certified
