Senior Electrical Engineer – HVDC Extruded

How you make an impact:

You are a key person responsible for a technical scope of work, involved in tender phase, engineering part in project execution and close- out phase:

  • Have firsthand knowledge on technical scope of work and have oversite of the cost estimates from tender phase, for delivery of the best technical solution for the project.
  • Using Nexans PLM system tool according to internal guidelines
  • Follow Nexans internal standards, relevant contract specific standards, Master Document Register, Change Management system and other key elements of the project model – within the frame of the contact
  • Collaborate within and across the Engineering teams and disciplines
  • Contribute to information sharing between the project and other projects, both during the engineering, production and installation phase (E.g. Lessons Learned).
  • Support and contribute to improvements / changes within the organization
  • Support system and competence development as well as training within the Business group including all units
  • Be a QHSE role model & report cases/incidents in Synergi Life tool

Tender:

  • Support the tender group with special focus on technical requirements/solutions, MDR proposal, IDC and risk evaluation

Project Execution Phase - Engineering:

  • Make sure engineering meets rules and contracts. Go to meetings before production. Also attend PVU meetings if needed. Tell the Lead Engineer regularly how engineering is going, like in weekly meetings.

Project close-out phase:

  • As built documentation
  • Contribute and give input on lessons learned to the Project throughout and after project is finished

 

You will work as an electrical engineer in the HVDC Extruded department with responsibility for the subsea cable design and/or equipment at all stages from design to installation, throughout manufacturing, testing, delivery and installation. You will discuss technical challenges and identify possible solutions. You will follow the Nexans’ Project Execution Modell during the Engineering process. You will also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department.

 

Your starting point when you join:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering.
  • 3 – 7 years’ experience in electrical engineering
  • An innovative and analytical mind
  • Like the combination of theoretical and practical work
  • In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you are well organized and structured in your work. 
  • Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian is a plus.

Located in Norway the HVDC Extruded department consists of highly competent and diverse members. We are responsible for project engineering related to all our subsea cable systems. The workplace is in Halden with the possibility to work partially from home office. You will be reporting to the Team leader in the department.
