The team with 10 team members located in Oslo and onboard our fleet. Our team is responsible for the vessel operation of two CLV vessels and the third is to be delivered Q 2 2026. We handle Vessel Operation and Vessel fleet Management. The workplace is in Oslo, and you will be reporting to the Vessel Operation/Fleet Manager.   

  

  

GETTING A FLYING START 

  

To succeed in Nexans Vessel Management, you have QHSE/DPA (designated person ashore) experience from the marine industries. Ideally you have experience in conducting risk assessments and developing risk-reducing measures, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset. Additionally, you have In-depth knowledge of compliance requirements and the ability to ensure adherence to QHSE standards. You are detail-oriented with a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

  

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT 

  

The QHSE/DPA will support the vessels and projects with QHSE/DPA related topics and will challenge the project and operation on QHSE related matters, initiate improvements and define risk reducing measures. You also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. Your responsibilities include ensuring compliance with standards, conducting and supporting comprehensive risk assessments, and fostering a culture of safety and quality awareness among our employees. You will know the operation and challenges in detail and provide regular, transparent reports to the leadership team, analyzing our QHSE performance and strategizing ways to enhance our standards, while integrating QHSE considerations seamlessly into our business strategy and operations. In this role, you will champion our commitment to excellence, overseeing the training, governance, and continuous improvement of our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) management systems. 

 

 

Additionally, you will take part in: 

  • Vetting and safety inspections, unannounced audits, internal and external audits for the vessels as per ISM 

  • Assigning, instructing, training and monitoring internal auditors 

  • Manage, comply to and maintain the company internal code and procedures for ISM/ISPS 

  • Brief and de-brief vessel's Senior Officers before and after appointment 

  • Ensure safe and hygienic working conditions on board the vessels and ashore 

  • Maintain company ISM, ISO 9007 & ISO 14001 accreditation 

  • Effective implementation and improvement of the company standards as per TMSA requirements 

  • Maintaining of navigational company standards 

  • Develop and arrange seminars and training workshops for seagoing and shore staff as required. 

 

  

YOUR STARTING POINT 
 

  • Degree B.sc or M.sc 

  • 5 Years managerial experience within quality, DPA, and/or QHSE role within ship management  

  • Knowledge in preventive & analysis tools: APQP, 8D analysis, MTO, SPC, SJA, Hazid/Hazop/FMEA 

  • Experience with ISM matters to the highest level of management 

  • Be fluent in English, both written and verbal
