WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

The Tender & Project Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with team members in Norway, France, USA and UK. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the lifetime of the tenders and projects.

 

The Northern Europe/Asia Team is unit within the Tender & Project Purchasing team specifically supporting projects with final client delivery in Northern Europe and Asia excluding France and UK. The workplace is in Oslo, Norway and you will be reporting to the purchasing team leader for the Northern Europe/Asia Team.

 

GETTING A FLYING START

To get a flying start as Tender and Project Purchasing Manager you should have at least a Master degree in engineering/business or similar, 9+ years in project purchasing work experience in the energy or oil/gas sector.

 

You are ambitious, have the ability to multi task, prioritize task, are an effective communicator and efficient at executing tasks.

 

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

You will be delegated and fully responsible for all project purchasing activities within a specific key tender/execution project or projects while ensuring and supporting company objectives.  

 

You will boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

 

YOUR STARTING POINT

  • Fluent in English
  • Master degree in Engineering , Business or Supply Chain
  • Extensive Experience from relevant positions may compensate for formal education
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in Procurement / Category Management / Supply Chain with proven records of fruitful negotiations or commercial achievements
  • Curious, willing to understand the purchasing technical need to a sufficient level to discuss and challenge suppliers
  • Appetite to negotiate with suppliers / Extensive Negotiation skills (LRN, e-auction, negotiation strategies, physical auctions…)
  • Knowledge of various Sourcing and e-sourcing platform
  • Team player /  Organised / Ability to coordinate many stakeholders and keep good track of discussions
  • Strong commercial & Proactive mindset /
  • Ability to communicate and search for information
  • Ability to develop a network both inside the company and externally
  • High working capacity  and resistant to some high pressure periods
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Experience with SAP obligatory
  • BI & Ariba Knowledge is an advantage
