Technical Vessel Manager

The team is dynamic and dedicated, with team members located in Oslo. Our team is responsible for the technical management and maintenance of our fleet of vessels and barges. The workplace is in Oslo, and you will be reporting to the Vessel Operations Manager and Fleet Manager in G&T. 

 

GETTING A FLYING START 
To succeed in the Vessel Operations Department, you have extensive experience from the marine offshore industry. You have experience managing vessel technical management and maintenance. You have worked in companies that are project-driven and have activities related to vessel operations. You have experience working domestically or internationally. Ideally, your experience is related to interconnectors, wind farms, or power from shore. You will be comfortable with ensuring compliance with all class, flag state, or any other standards. You have strong leadership and organizational abilities. 

 

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT 
You will lead and mentor a team of Technical Superintendents and Superintendents, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. You will oversee all technical operations for the vessels, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing efficiency. Your responsibilities are within all technical tasks related to the department. You will participate in negotiating contracts, implementing new management systems, and supporting audits. Additionally, you will monitor budgetary performance, support planning activities, and contribute to HSEQ procedures. Your role ensures compliance with all standards and requirements while maintaining high professional standards. 


Additionally, you will:  

  • Be responsible for FMEA/HAZOP in technical aspects 

  • Determine repair specifications for dry-docking, overhauling, maintenance, and surveys 

  • Work with continuous improvement with our procedures and policies and make sure they are followed. 

  • Monitor and follow up on budgetary performance 

  • Contribute in chartering contracting matters from a technical perspective  

  • Support in projects from a technical perspective. 

 

YOUR STARTING POINT 

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum, within technical management related to the marine and offshore industry 

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience 

  • Relevant knowledge regarding class, flag state, and other standards and requirements within the marine and offshore industry
