WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM 

The team members are located in Oslo and onboard our fleet. Our team is responsible for the vessel operation of two CLV vessels and the third is to be delivered Q 2 2026 and barges. We handle Vessel Operation and Vessel Fleet Management. You will be based in Oslo and be reporting to the Technical Manager and Technical Superintendent.   

  

  

GETTING A FLYING START 

To succeed in Nexans Operation, you have experience with managing, planning and execution of vessel and marine operations related activities. Ideally you have experience in operational activities with execution of cable laying and trenching operations. Additionally, strong language skills in written and oral English and Norwegian, decision making capability and good “people skills” are essential.

 

  

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT 

The Superintendent will support the Technical Superintendent with activities related to the vessels and barges. The Superintendent will take supportive and operational part during execution of various Marine and Vessel Operations activities or other operations/activities related to the Vessel Operation parts of Nexans Projects. Your responsibilities include to proactively supply operational input during tendering and project engineering phase, vessel operation including establishing methods and procedures. You will Ensure that procedures, equipment and resources required for the marine operations are provided in advance of the operation. 

 

Additionally, you will: 

  • Be responsible for risk reducing activities like Toolbox meetings, Safe Job Analysis (SJA), filling out observation reports and contribute to closing of related actions 
  • Take active part in design reviews, tender review meetings, risk analysis, or any other meetings during planning, engineering, execution and close-out of projects where vessel operational input are required. 
  • Be a Nexans’ worksite HSE role model by offering visible and positive HSE support
  • Ensure that project and corporate QHSE requirements are implemented throughout the vessel operational phases of a project
  • Assist in Developing and maintaining Nexans’ equipment and Vessel Operation marine equipment
  • Perform technical review and suitability survey of vessels, barges, equipment. 
  • Improve internal routines, systems and procedures within the discipline

 

YOUR STARTING POINT 

  • Experience with managing, planning and execution of vessel and marine operations related activities. 
  • Operational experience with execution of cable laying and trenching operations. 
  • Strong language skills in written and oral English and Norwegian.
