Welcoming you to the team 
Our teams enable the company in its ability to plan and execute fabrication, project execution as well as installation activities anywhere in the world. Through the Nexans G&T Graduate Program you will be integrated into one of our departments in Oslo in a permanent position and be allocated to real-life EPCI projects from day one! Estimated start date August 2025.

 

Getting a flying start 
As a Graduate Engineer in Oslo you will fulfill activities and services related to live engineering tasks in one of the following departments; Marine Installation, Land Installation, or Survey, Protection & GIS. You will join one of these teams in planning and executing worldwide HV cable projects. 

 
Marine Installation:  
Marine Installation focuses on subsea activities, including cable laying, offshore wind farm connections, interconnections, and deep-sea operations. As a Graduate in Marine Installation, you'll get hands-on experience by working in a project team assist with leading, planning and driving marine installation activities such as installation packages and supplier / subcontractors, procedures, plans, analyses, calculations and other documentation. This opportunity is especially relevant for students pursuing studies in Mechanical Engineering, Submarine, Naval, or Marine Technology. 
 
Land Installation:  
This department focuses on onshore activities. You will work in project teams as a Graduate engineer with responsibility for the onshore and topside installation of submarine cables and belonging accessories. We provide a unique opportunity to follow a project from project award to energizing the cable system. As a Graduate you'll engage in tasks like analysis and project support, gaining exposure to our onshore cable installation processes. This opportunity is ideal for students graduating from studies within High Voltage, Renewable Energy or Energy & Environmental fields. 

 
Survey, Protection & GIS: 
As a Graduate in Survey, Protection and GIS you will work closely with projects, including project familiarization, contract review, and follow up of sub-contractor during planning, offshore ops and reporting. Survey activities include analyzing existing data, technical evaluations for tenders, planning survey routes, and overseeing requirements. Protection activities include cable protection through risk assessment, study, and coordination with subcontractors. GIS activities include management and integration of survey data into our GIS system, issuing the cable route coordinates (RPL), publishing to our web service, and supporting colleagues with geographical data and spatial analysis This department is ideal for students pursuing studies within Geotechnical, Geomatics, Geophysical, Mechanical, Marine Technology or similar.

This Graduate Program will allow you to learn and contribute to the Nexans Way -such as engineering methodology and technical standards as well as quality culture and our safety mindset. From day one you will take direct part in one of our projects, enabling you to make your footprint on the electricity transformation. You will get the platform to participate in in-house training lectures, as well as cross-functional networking with your fellow graduates. Over time you will build a strong understanding of Nexans business model, products, and services.

 

Your starting point when you join 

  • Marine Installation: Bachelor's or master's degree within the field of Mechanical Engineering, Submarine, Naval, or Marine Technology. 

  • Land Installation: Bachelor's or master's degree within the field of High Voltage, Renewable Energy or Energy & Environmental Engineering. 

  • Protection, Survey & GIS: Bachelor's or master's degree within the field of Geotechnical, Geomatics, Geophysical, Mechanical, Marine or similar.  

  • You are graduating from your bachelor’s or master’s degree in 2025.  

  • Fluency in English, written and oral. Norwegian is a plus. 

  • Some experience of working in technical environments is beneficial, but not required. This can for example be from summer internships. 

  • You strongly align and identify with Nexans' values: Dedicated, Pioneer and United.
