We are excited to invite you to be a part of our dynamic operations team within the G&T (Generation and Transmission) business group. At Nexans Norway, we specialize in executing turn-key and supply-only contracts for subsea and land cable manufacturing and installation around the globe.
Location: Oslo, Norway
Getting a Flying Start
As a Tax Controller focusing on international personal income tax and payroll, you will ensure Nexans Norway’s compliance with payroll tax and social security reporting for employees posted on assignments related to installation contracts. Your role will involve:
- Establishing and performing local reporting processes in cooperation with local service providers.
- Supporting projects and operations in Norway and abroad with accounting and compliance tasks.
- Extensive communication within the company and with external consultants and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear and accurate information to employees regarding personal tax reporting requirements from foreign assignments.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of foreign shadow payroll and payment of foreign personal income tax deductions.
- Coordinate with employees to obtain necessary signatures for filing foreign tax returns, including Power of Attorney.
- Prepare monthly reports of employee salaries earned while on foreign assignments.
- Ensure employees on foreign assignments have the corresponding NAV certificate for Norwegian Social Security system membership.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure employees have the correct working visa when posted on foreign assignments.
- Ensure correct booking in SAP of foreign personal income tax payments.
- File claims for Norwegian tax credits annually and ensure refunded amounts are repaid to Nexans Norway.
- Reconcile personal income tax payments in SAP monthly, including writing off any personal income tax payment costs.
- Process invoices from service providers for support on personnel tax compliance issues.
- Liaise with the Tax Manager to identify taxable employees and/or hired personnel.
- Support the Tax Manager during tax audits and inspections with local authorities.

Your Starting Point When You Join
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Payroll, HR, Tax, or a similar field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to deliver on time.
- Excellent professional language skills in both Norwegian and English.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP and finance tools is an advantage.
