PROJECT MANAGER

(Installation)
 (m/f)

 

Responsabilities

The Project Manager (PM) will manage projects (from 0,05 to 30M€) from the start of the hand over phase to the final acceptance from the customer and final payment – He is the customer main interface.

The PM will be based in the Charleroi cable manufacturing plant with many displacement around Belgium

 

Main tasks

  • Customer interface :
      • Customer visits, on site, inspections, meetings, …
  • Contract management :
      • Contribute to the project hand over managed by Tender Team
      • Identifies critical items in the contract and the respective mitigating actions– risk assessment
      • Is rigorous when applies the contract and takes into account specificities
      • Evaluate potential deviations between tender and execution, manage Variation Orders
  • Project management :
      • Prepares the project schedules and do the follow up and updates
      • Follow-up the technical, financial (budget, turnover, and invoicing) part of the project
      • Initiate all QHSE activities (plan, implementation, control, administration)
      • Prepares the site team arrival (logistics) with the support of the project support team
  • Create a mindset of feedback and continuous improvement – REX
  • Interface with :
      • jointers/ installers and project team
      • project engineering teams : define technical needs & coordinate priorities / control & approve schematic diagrams, approve delivery lengths of cables to be produced
      • cable engineering (in Calais or in plants)
      • cable manufacturing (plants) AND with accessories manufacturing

 

Required skills and qualifications

  • Engineer or Business Administrator with technical background
  • Prior experience ideally as Project Manager
  • Strong leadership in order to work efficiently with the project team (Engineering, jointers, cost controllers, admin, etc.)
  • Customer orientation but also commercial (ability to promote Nexans & Nexans portfolio, negotiation skills, ability to seize commercial opportunities, business acumen)
  • Ability to be the reference point locally for all stakeholders and to decide by him/herself
  • Autonomous and proactive
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, French is a added value
