Digital & Data Innovation – Cloud Architect

Context:

Nexans has initiated a major strategic orientation towards innovation to support its growth in value rather than in volume.

Within Corporate Innovation, Service and Growth Department, the Digital and Data Innovation Team oversees the development of new solutions leveraging on digital, analytics and AI technologies.

To strengthen our cloud foundation team, we are looking for a Cloud Architect.

Our company is undergoing a major digital transformation, and we are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will help us design and implement cloud-based solutions to improve our organizational efficiency, security, and scalability.

Management: 2-4 externals consultants

Purpose:

The Cloud Architect will lead the design, development, and implementation of Azure cloud solutions within our organization. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and cyber teams, to ensure that our cloud solutions meet both business and technical requirements. Additionally, the Cloud Architect will provide knowledge transfer and mentoring to other IT staff and developers within the organization. His expertise will be instrumental in promoting Agile methodologies, ensuring application security best practices, automating compliance reviews, and monitoring security levels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Roadmap Definition and follow-up

- Identify and define Azure cloud services core roadmap to support Nexans business strategy and initiatives

- Animate and drive cloud touchpoint with internal stakeholders to manage initiatives based on team capacity

2. Cloud Solution Architecture

- Design and implement scalable and secure Azure cloud solutions that align with business and technical requirements.

- Provide recommendations to support the development of cloud-based infrastructure, services, and applications (e.g. Architecture Decision Record)

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain cloud solution architectures.

3. Cloud Implementation

Design and implement Azure cloud solutions using Azure infrastructure services (e.g., virtual machines, storage, networking, and security).

- Guide developers and operations teams to build, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications.

-  Regularly assess and report on the progress of initiatives against established roadmaps.

Provide support during the implementation phase, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.

4. Cloud Optimization and Management

- Optimize Azure deployments to ensure cost-effective and scalable solutions.

- Monitor and manage Azure cloud assets and resources.

- Develop automation scripts to streamline cloud infrastructure provisioning and maintenance tasks.

5. Cloud Security and Compliance

- Ensure that Azure cloud solutions meet security and compliance requirements.

- Implement security controls and policies to protect cloud workloads and assets.

- Stay up-to-date with Azure security and compliance regulations and standards.

Profile:

You are:

- A highly experienced professional with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

- An Azure-certified professional, with proven experience in designing and implementing Azure cloud solutions.

- A technical expert with deep knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, applications, and security.

- Passionate about cloud technologies and their potential to improve business operations.

- Fluent in English.

You have:

- 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions based on Microsoft Azure.

- Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure services, such as virtual machines, storage, networking, and security.

- Experience with Azure Service Fabric, Kubernetes, and Docker containerization technologies.

- Strong knowledge of Azure security and compliance processes and policies.

- Experience with automation scripting using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or Terraform.

It would be a plus if you have:

- Experience with Azure DevOps for continuous integration and deployment.

- Knowledge of cloud-based data solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Stream Analytics.

- Familiarity with other cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.

- Experience with agile processes and methodologies.
