Job Description

 

Position : Senior Project Manager

Context

 

  • Package Manager is organized in Project Management
  • This position shall ensure dedicated and close follow-up of large subcontracts

 

Purpose

 

  • Responsible for planning, execution and follow-up of dedicated subcontracts
  • Ensure high quality and efficient project execution by close follow up of subcontracts and subcontractor's deliveries
  • Provide relevant input to Tender Purchasing Manager for relevant subcontracts

 

Areas of responsibility

 

Participate in tender process for specifically appointed subcontracts

 

  • Be a package manager for dedicated subcontracts during project execution
  • Manage the subcontracting process according to Nexans Project Execution Model
    • Organise the subcontract team and establish routines for follow up the subcontract
    • Ensure that subcontractor deliveries are according to the contract and optimal for the project
    • Close follow-up of subcontractor's performance and progress
    • Manage and track Variation Orders (Requests)
    • Close follow-up of costs
    • Report status to project manager

 

  • Participate in tender meetings and project meetings
  • In charge of the meetings with the appointed subcontractors

 

Expected results

 

During Tender Phase

 

  • Be an active contributor in establishing draft subcontract terms and conditions and exhibits
  • Ensure that enough internal costs and resources to follow up subcontracts are allocated at tender stage

 

During Project Execution

 

  • Ensure strong control of subcontractor's performance and progress during project execution
  • Ensure strong control of costs related to the subcontract
  • Ensure high quality and efficient project execution by close follow up of subcontractor and its deliveries
  • Perform subcontract follow-up according to Nexans Project Execution Model
  • Be an active contributor in the project to satisfy internal and external customers

 

General

 

  • Ensure that Subcontract Process in Nexans Project Execution Model works as a useful tool
  • Ensure high professional level in work performance

 

 

Position sizing

 

  • Handle 1– 5 subcontracts simultaneously
  • Turnover for one subcontract can be up to 150 MEUR
  • Interface with Project Manager, Project Engineer, Contract Manager, Project Planner, Document Controller, Project Controller, Project Purchaser, Tender Purchasing Manager, Legal Counsel

 

Required skills and qualifications

 

  • Business master's degree from university (min 5 years)
  • Extensive experience project management and/or subcontracting
  • Extensive experience from international negotiations
  • Experience from any of the following industries: offshore wind, oil&gas, onshore, maritime, construction
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Efficient and able to achieve results
  • High working capacity and ability to multitask
  • Well-structured and executing tasks in an orderly and systematic manner
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
