Nexans needs to develop and deploy a strong brand image, build an internal culture, promote Group values, and position Communication as a key vehicle of the strategy. Communication is a major pilar, at the heart of the various interactions with internal, external stakeholders, customers, shareholders, investors, journalists, employees, ...and contributes to the external and internal group successes. Communication designs, implements, rolls-out main messages, innovative programs, services, and tools to support and value processes, policies, messages dedicated to various audiences and usages both at global and local levels.

We are looking for someone who takes care of the group: institutional and digital

The Communication function is a key business partner for all the functions within the group. The role and key responsibilities The role reports to the CHRO Member of the Executive Committee

 

 

Scope of responsibilities :

  • Define and put in place the communication strategy at Group and country levels.
  • Structure, manage the teams to address the different topics bearing in mind the international presence of the group.
  • Ensure that the communication strategy he/she has defined, tools and events are supporting the company’s business objectives related to production, growth, profitability, and management.
  • Ensure that Communication is integrated early in all decisive processes and follow them through the whole value chain. He/she will recommend the necessary internal tools and expertise and makes appropriated external key network.
  • Manage, challenge the different agencies Nexans is working with, put in place a performance approach. Manage appropriately the budget.
  • Restore trust, confidence in the role by his/her commitment, legitimacy, and managerial posture. It is key also that he/she builds a team around his/her strategy, animates the Editorial/communication community in the regions.
  • Be seen as a trusted advisor/ referent on Communication topics by the group and external stakeholders.

 

Among his/her areas of responsibilities:

  • Refocus the function on its strategic missions.
  • Design and deploy a clear editorial strategy and equity story around the new Group strategy.
  • Modernize the function and its operating model, works on the digitalization, develop social media, digital media … increase the presence of Nexans on the digital eco-system.
  • Responsibility for the company’s reputation management.

 

Among his/her expected contribution :

  • Internal communication, ensure that all messages are clearly displayed and targeted, reinforce the consistency of internal communications, …
  • Public relations and Press: identify priorities and develop the adequate external communication strategy; strengthen Nexans’ image and reputation to all stakeholders, constantly review, challenges agencies, develop close collaboration with regional communication managers to support them.
  • Digital external communication: drive an e-business strategy in line with group’s business objectives. • Social media strategy and community management: reinforce the team, participate to the elaboration of the social media strategy
  • Crisis management: in collaboration with Legal department, ensure that appropriate plans are developed.
  • Put in place KPIs to manage the different objectives.

 

He/she will manage a team including:

  • A corporate team
  • A communication network into the Business Groups with one Internal communication manager among main geographies: NAM, SAM, APAC, Europe (except France covered by the Corporate Communication VP). This is a key function in the equity story of Nexans, it is thus critical that the future incumbent can “operate” the role and position himself/herself as business partner and legitimate advisor on communication topics.

 

 

Ideal candidate profile :

  • Good academic education background giving to the candidate synthesis skills, excellent level of communication both written and spoken in English.
  • Circa 15 and more years of experience and more as number one or number two (according to the size of the group) of corporate communication in an international environment.
  • Someone who embodies E3 (criteria Nb 1)
  • Strategic, understands business priorities.
  • Extrovert person :
    • Strong influencing and convincing skills, experienced in managing different public/stakeholders and opinion leaders.
    • Presence, professional legitimacy, recognized by his/her peers.
