Welcoming you to the team
Our teams enable the company in its ability to plan and execute fabrication, project execution as well as installation activities anywhere in the world. Through the Nexans G&T Graduate Program you will be integrated into one of our departments in Halden in a permanent position and be allocated to real-life EPCI projects from day one! The start date is estimated August 2025.

Getting a flying start
As a Graduate Engineer in Halden you will fulfill activities and services related to live engineering tasks in one of the following departments; Extruded HVDC, Materials Engineering or Monitoring. As a graduate in Halden you will be part of the Engineering and R&D section with about 200 highly skilled engineers, and you will have a mentor that supports you. It will be a great opportunity for you to learn and grow.

Extruded HVDC: The HVDC Extruded department specializes in engineering, design and qualifying High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Cable systems. We are involved in the entire project execution from early tenders to commissioning and are committed to delivering high quality on time. This opportunity is ideal for students graduating from fields such as Electrical Power Engineering, Energy and Environment, or similar fields.

Materials Engineering: This department has an overarching technical responsibility for the materials used in G&T's subsea products, and for ensuring that this part of the BG possesses the necessary competence in material technology. Technical responsibility for materials involves giving material engineering support to project teams and other departments in G&T. We develop and qualify new materials in partnership with the design and process departments. In addition, we ensure material technical competence regarding selection of sub-suppliers, processability and application. Lastly, we identify the need for research and development within relevant areas of material technology. This department is ideal for those with education related to chemistry with focus on polymer materials technology or similar.

Monitoring: The monitoring department has responsibility for defining monitoring solutions for Nexans' subsea high voltage cable system in client projects. As a graduate within monitoring, you will take part in defining this and preparing the documentation necessary to purchase, install and commission the monitoring system. You will be in contact with sub-suppliers, and you will be on site during commissioning and maintenance of the system. The monitoring department is especially relevant for those who are studying Mathematics and Physics/photonics/electronics.
