The R&D team consists of a diverse group of personalities with many different strengths. As R&D Project Manager in our team you will be responsible for a portfolio of R&D projects including internal projects and projects with external partners and/or research institutes. The R&D department is located in Oslo and Halden. You will be reporting to the R&D manager for G&T.

GETTING A FLYING START
In the R&D department, we work to find solutions to technical challenges and develop existing technology beyond current limitations. Our technologies connect islands to mainland, transfer energy between nations, and bring green energy from offshore renewables to the grid. As part of this team you will be involved in developing, designing, manufacturing and testing these technologies.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

Upon joining, you'll take charge of the Technology Program, managing a diverse portfolio of R&D projects across various disciplines. You will work in close cooperation with our technical experts and dedicated technical resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the progress of both internal and external R&D projects, ensuring they align with strategy, budgets, guidelines and directives.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage project tasks to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide regular updates on the technical and financial aspects of projects.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and ensure all work meets the required standards and regulations.
  • Act as a representative for the department and Nexans in relevant forums, both internally and externally.
  • Manage application process for external funding within the portfolio.
  • Lead the evaluation process for new R&D proposals within the portfolio.

 

YOUR STARTING POINT WHEN YOU JOIN

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering.
  • 5 -10 years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth technical knowledge in at least one of the key focus areas of the business group.
  • A solid understanding of business operations.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to your work.
  • Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to tasks.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • A flexible team player mindset, as teamwork and project execution are vital in our work at Nexans.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written; Norwegian language skills are an advantage.
