Nexans Generation & Transmission (High Voltage Cable Manufacturing and Installation) is growing rapidly, we have secured an impressive backlog of projects which translates into a commitment for continuous delivery of our turnkey projects for the years to come. In order to support the company in achieving its undertaken endeavors, we need new team members with extensive experience with indirect category management, supplier management, strategic procurement and with applied, strong negotiation skills . The Equipment, Supplies and Services Purchasing team is a diverse and multicultural team with team members in Norway, France, Belgium and the US. The team is responsible for managing and coordinating all purchasing related activities respecting Nexans purchasing procedures throughout the Source to Pay process.
Getting a flying start
To succeed as Senior Purchaser you have several years’ experience. You have worked in companies that are project driven, with indirect purchasing activities adapted to the plant’s requirements, with a consistent pipeline of negotiations in a complex environment. You are used to take full ownership for internal project and contract negotiations in order to bring them to signature, and later manage them. You have experience working domestically or internationally. Ideally your experience is broad, encompassing previous work within major categories such as Consulting and labor services, Transport and Logistics, ideally previous experience with Installation operations, to name a few. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and working diligently according to agreed milestones. You have experience preparing and managing procurement plans, defining purchasing strategies, negotiating and following up contracts. Good communication skills is essential to ensure good information flow across different disciplines.
How you make an impact
You will support with the indirect scope on all purchasing related tasks, answering to and coordinating the purchasing processes based on your stakeholders’ needs, you will prepare offer evaluations and assist with business cases, to be presented and discussed with relevant work groups and internal sponsors. During category strategy preparation and execution, ensure high quality delivery, diligent preparation and spend analysis, by close follow up with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contracts and deliverables. Ensure good cross-functional communication; establish and maintain Procurement Plans according to Nexans Standards; provide necessary inputs to the monthly reporting. You will be an active and visible contributor in the indirect administration, aiming to satisfy internal and external customers. You may also participate in developing efficiencies and take part in technical improvements relevant to our department. You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and implementing best practices.
Your starting point when you join
- Bachelor degree within relevant fields
- 5 years of relevant procurement and purchasing experience
- In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you are proactive and eager to learn and improve.
- In Nexans we work in teams, aiming to drive and implement category strategies with cross-functional stakeholders, therefore being able to communicate effectively and having strong collaboration skills is of upmost importance.
- Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian is a plus.
