Our story starts in 1911, manufacturing cables to support the distribution of power generated from Niagara Falls, Nexans has proudly contributed to Canada's growth. We have been involved in many of Canada's most ambitious projects; from dams, bridges, energy transmission and distribution to railroads and transportation. We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION
One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.
The Supply Chain Head mission is to lead the Supply Chain function and ensuring all aspects of inventory management and supply chain are effective, meeting customer and satisfaction requirements.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
Customer satisfaction and Supply Chain Performance
- Defines the level of service provided to the customer (Service Level Agreement).
- Contributes to the rationalization of the product portfolio.
- Defines and implements product policy to meet customer requirements and optimize inventory/cost (MTO/MTS).
- Responsible for finished goods inventory coverage within its perimeter.
- Ensure that the scrap sales process is carried out in compliance with all procedures, and that reports and pertinent information are kept up to date.
- Defines and implements supply chain services expected by customers (VMI, cutting, etc.).
- Ensures customer expectations are well understood by the operations team.
- Manages supply chain performance within scope (KPI tracking, policy implementation, master plan): claims, OTIF, inventory coverage and customer lead time, transportation costs.
- Manage plant level purchasing and operations in materials department to ensure the supply of all materials that allow production to run smoothly as well as the maintenance of the business.
- Anticipates risks and manages crises.
Demand Management
- Compiles sales forecast.
- To follow up the flow of purchases from the issuance of the Purchase Order to the payment to the supplier.
- Align raw material inventory levels, control the rotation (FIFO).
- Elaborates a demand plan commented and validated by the sales and plant manager (animates the demand review S&OP meeting and manages the process to reach a consensus forecast.
- Follow up the backlog to achieve prioritization in Plant and ensure invoicing.
Compliance and Team Management
- Ensure risk management and work with internal control manager, guaranteeing compliance with policies.
- Lead and manage the Supply Chain team in charge at each plant.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ?
Education
- Bachelor Degree(s) in Civil Engineering, Commercial Engineering, Logistics Engineering or related career.
- MBA or Master's degree in logistics or operations (Desirable)
Knowledge
- Knowledge in Integrated Management System (IMS) (ISO 9001:2015, 14001 2015, ISO 45001; 2018).
- SAP Intermediate
- Office Intermediate
Experience
- At least 10 years of work experience
- 3 years of experience in similar industries (Desirable)
