Engineer

Onboarding you to the Company 

Nexans global vision is to electrify the future. This means designing, engineering, fabricating and installing the worlds’ best subsea cables. The marine installation department is looking for a marine installation engineer to join our Laying & System Engineering group. The Marine Installation Engineering Department consists of more that 150 engineers in both Norway, France and US. We work with installation of subsea cables for Windfarm and interconnector projects worldwide. 

 

How you make an impact: 

The work typically consists of: 

  • Work in multidiscipline project teams focusing on Marine Installation activities 

  • Our engineers normally follow their projects from start to finish, including going offshore on the vessels to follow up the work.  

  • Preparing procedures and task plans for the marine operations 

  • Plan and give input to marine installation schedules 

  • Perform analysis/calculations 

  • Prepare specifications for equipment and services 

  • Follow-up of subcontractors

  • Like to seek more knowledge. 

  • Installation analyses experience with using for instance Orcaflex is a plus. 

  • Excellent English language skills – Norwegian is a plus. 

  • Higher technical education from college or university (bachelor / master's degree) and / or other relevant work experience. 

  • 1-4 years relevant experience working in projects with marine installation operations. Experience from offshore installation or subsea operations is a plus.
