The team is driven and collaborative, with global safety professionals and leaders located in Charleroi, Belgium or Halden, Norway. Our team is responsible for advancing safety culture to an interdependent level, implementing standardized risk management practices, and driving continuous improvement across global manufacturing facilities. The workplace is in Charleroi or Halden, and you will be reporting to the Vice President of Health, Safety, Security, Sustainability, Environment, and Risk.
Getting a flying start
To succeed in the G&T Group Manufacturing HSE Senior Manager role, you have extensive experience in global manufacturing safety, continuous improvement, and risk management. You have worked in companies that are project-driven and have successfully led safety culture advancements aligned with models like the Bradley Curve. You are familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards and have expertise in root cause analysis, Lean methodologies, and risk assessment frameworks. Your experience ideally includes managing safety strategies in complex manufacturing environments with a focus on zero harm. You are adept at leading teams, mentoring safety professionals, and implementing global standardized processes. Your natural strategic mindset and proactive leadership qualities enable you to foster collaboration and drive change effectively.

How you make an impact
You will work with cross-functional teams as a strategic leader to implement and lead manufacturing safety strategies across all global sites. To do this, you will:
- Develop and implement a global safety continuous improvement strategy, integrating Lean principles and 5S methodologies.
- Standardize risk management processes, focusing on non-standard work risks, task assessments, and safety frameworks.
- Conduct deep-dive root cause analyses (RCA) for significant incidents and implement lessons learned into standardized actions.
- Monitor and improve key safety metrics, ensuring alignment with Nexans' Zero Harm objectives.
- Champion safety culture advancement through training, coaching, and engaging employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with manufacturing leaders, HSE teams, and external partners to drive safety performance and compliance.
With your leadership and technical skills, you will enhance safety performance across all factories while ensuring continuous improvement and risk reduction.
Your starting point when you join
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in global manufacturing safety, risk management, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards, and global safety regulations.
- Proven track record in leading safety culture advancements and implementing Lean methodologies.
- Fluent in English; Norwegian or French proficiency is a plus.
