The Internal Control Manager will play a critical role in overseeing and enhancing the internal control environment within our projects and operations, ensuring compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency. The workplace is in Oslo and you will be reporting to the business group’s Accounting and Treasury director.

 

GETTING A FLYING START

To succeed in the role, you have experience in internal control management, risk management, or compliance within an industrial or project-based environment. You will be comfortable with ensuring quality and safety. You have strong understanding of long-term project contracts, project accounting, and cost control principles. You have exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional project and production teams.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

 

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures tailored to the unique requirements in the business group, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential areas of risk within operations, including financial, operational, and compliance risks
  • Design and monitor internal control systems to mitigate risks and safeguard assets, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and operational processes
  • Collaborate with operational teams to ensure that internal controls are integrated into project planning, execution, and monitoring, with a focus on project management
  • Provide guidance and training to project teams on internal control best practices, compliance requirements, and risk management strategies
  • Lead financial internal control reviews of project operations, working closely with internal and external auditors to address control deficiencies and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal controls, compliance status, and risk mitigation efforts to senior management and stakeholders
  • Work closely with production, project and installation teams to assess and enhance internal controls within the production processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, cost controls, and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with management at all levels in the organisation to identify and address operational risks, control deficiencies, and process improvements
  • Provide IFRS expertise and guidance to ensure that internal controls and financial reporting practices align with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant accounting standards

 

 

YOUR STARTING POINT

 

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience in internal control management, risk management, or compliance within an industrial or project-based environment
  • Strong understanding of long-term project contracts, project accounting, and cost control principles
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional project and production teams.
  • Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian is a plus.
