Welcome to MEOS – Marine Equipment and Offshore Support at our Fredrikstad location, a vital part of the Marine Installation department. Our department is responsible for storing, maintaining, and delivering equipment for both the Laying and Protection activities, and we also provide offshore support when needed. You will join a team of dedicated professionals who ensure that our marine installation activities, including cable laying and related operations, are executed safely and efficiently worldwide. Getting a Flying Start
To succeed in MEOS, you should have relevant experience in marine installation engineering, along with a background in a combined office, site, and offshore work environment. Experience in project-driven companies, particularly in areas such as subsea cables, offshore wind, interconnectors, or power from shore, is highly valued. At the same time, you should be comfortable upholding high standards of quality and safety throughout our projects, and be ready to take the lead with natural initiative and drive.
How you make an impact
Maintenance and Repairs
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and conduct repairs as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
Mobilization and Demobilization
- Receive equipment upon demobilization and conduct thorough inspections to identify any required maintenance.
- Prepare equipment for the next mobilization, ensuring all systems are functional and safety standards are met.
- Coordinate with operations teams to schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
SAP PM and Work Order Management
- Utilize the SAP PM module to create, update, and manage maintenance notifications.
- Process work orders, track progress, and close out completed tasks in the SAP system.
- Generate and analyze maintenance reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits of equipment.
- Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Inventory and Tools Management
- Maintain an inventory of parts, tools, and supplies necessary for the maintenance.
- Order and replenish inventory as needed to avoid downtime.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Responsible of being updated and adhere to company procedures, rules and regulations.
Your starting point when you join
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in marine mechanics or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in marine mechanics or a similar role, with specific experience in maintaining workboats or similar vessels.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in using the SAP PM module for maintenance notifications and work orders.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
Certifications
- Relevant certifications in marine mechanics or related fields are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects, climb, and perform manual tasks.
Work Environment
- The role may involve working in a marine environment, including docks, shipyards, and onboard vessels.
Occasional travel may be required to support mobilization and demobilization activities at different locations.
