ONBOARDING YOU TO THE COMPANY
Nexans is a global leader in electrification, committed to enabling the world’s energy transition and building a more connected and sustainable future. With over 120 years of experience, a presence in 34 countries, and a team of 28,000 employees, we design and deliver advanced cable systems that power homes, cities, industries, and entire nations.

Our ambition is clear: to become a pure electrification player by 2030. As the second-largest cable manufacturer globally, Nexans plays a critical role in shaping the energy systems of tomorrow. Through our High Voltage & Projects business, we design, produce, and install large-scale cable systems for offshore wind farms, subsea interconnectors, and high-voltage onshore transmission—enabling renewable energy to reach millions and strengthening the resilience of global energy networks.
Flagship projects like the Celtic Interconnector (linking France and Ireland), the EuroAsia Interconnector (connecting Cyprus, Greece, and Israel), and the Empire Wind project off the coast of New York—one of the largest offshore wind projects in the United States—demonstrate Nexans’ pivotal role in advancing global energy infrastructure. These complex, large-scale initiatives showcase our unique end-to-end expertise in high-voltage subsea and land cabling, installation, and project execution.
We are a company driven by purpose. Our mission—Electrify the Future—guides our innovation, digitalization, and sustainability efforts. Nexans is at the forefront of carbon reduction in the cable industry, with a firm commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. We pair industrial excellence with a strong ESG agenda, striving to create long-term value for customers, partners, employees, and the planet.

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM
As Head of Business and Project Planning, you will join the Power Transmission Division and report to the VP of Power Transmission. The team you will lead spans regional and global projects, forming the backbone of our centralized planning function. Working closely with Sales, Project Directors, Regional Leaders, and the Divisional Executive Team, you will drive planning excellence and enable predictable project delivery across our global portfolio.

This is a global, cross-functional leadership role with hybrid flexibility. You will collaborate closely with commercial, engineering, production, and operations teams — creating alignment between pipeline development, delivery capacity, and client commitments.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
As Head of Business and Project Planning, you will lead the strategy and execution of integrated planning across our strategic EPCI projects, from bid through execution. Your contributions will strengthen our operational excellence, delivery predictability, and commercial credibility.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the global planning team, mentoring professionals across regions to embed best-in-class planning into our major bids and live projects.
  • Defining and governing planning standards, tools, and methodologies to ensure consistency and visibility across the organization.
  • Developing master project schedules that integrate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and installation — managing interdependencies and realistic timelines.
  • Driving scenario-based resource and capacity planning to support long-term decision-making and portfolio steering.
  • Translating commercial strategy into executable timelines, enabling successful client bids and delivery confidence.
  • Modernizing planning systems through digital platforms like Primavera, MS Project, and dashboard-based reporting.
  • Collaborating across disciplines, ensuring that planning is connected to financial performance, contract milestones, and resource availability.
  • You boost your impact by actively promoting Quality and HSE.

YOUR STARTING POINT
We know that the best candidates don’t always match every requirement listed, but here are some examples of the background and experience that can help you thrive in the role:

  • 15+ years of experience in project planning, project controls, or portfolio management in capital-intensive industries such as EPC/EPCI, offshore construction, or energy infrastructure
  • Strong strategic and commercial mindset with understanding of how planning connects to operational delivery and financial performance
  • Leadership experience in cross-functional and matrixed organizations
  • Strong skills in integrated scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), data analytics, and resource planning
  • Experience in transformation programs or strategic consulting (5+ years is a plus)
  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Management, or Business; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, PMI-SP) are advantageous
  • Fluent in English – oral and written
  • Your personal values are aligned to those of Nexans: Pioneer, Dedicated, United

OUR GROWTH CULTURE

At the individual level, our growth culture is built on trust and collaboration. We wish to welcome you as a valuable member of our team. To enable impact, we believe in autonomy at the local level while encouraging knowledge sharing within our global engineering competence.
