Project QHSER Manager

Welcoming you to the team

The STSC Project Department are responsible for the project execution of cable EPC Contracts with the main manufacturing site in Rognan. Our team enables the company in its ability to plan and execute projects with the right level of “Quality, Heath, Safety, Environment and Risk” (QHSER). Your role as QHSER Manager will be to manage QHSER activities on assigned projects. When required you may also support the projects with other tasks as Project Deputy Manager. The workplace is in Oslo or Rognan and you will be reporting functionally to the Project Director and operationally to the Project Manager. 


Getting a flying start

To succeed in the roles as Project QHSER Manager you have experience from marine and/or manufacturing based industry. You have worked in companies that are project driven, which have activities related to managing QHSER aspects in projects. You have experience working domestically or internationally. Your experience can be from any engineering discipline or project / line management. Passion for QHSER is the major key to succeeding in this role as training and guidance will be given on the specific tasks. You are comfortable being a manager by ensuring quality and safety in the projects.


How you make an impact

You will work in a project team as a Project QHSER Manager to facilitate all aspects of QHSER in project from tender to project close-out as required. And by that, manage and assure that Nexans QHSER system and Client’s requirements and expectations are met. Typical disciplines in Nexans EPC projects; engineering, cable manufacturing and testing.

 

Additionally, you will also take part in, but not limited to:

  • Be responsible for coordinating and facilitating QHSER activities in projects and across projects; to ensure high focus on Nexans QHSER objectives.
  • Facilitating risk assessments and follow-up of mitigation actions to ensure the highest standard of quality and safety.
  • Ensure the projects overall compliance to our Project Execution Model.
  • Ensure Project Quality Plans and procedures are developed and implemented in compliance with the project execution model and contract's requirements. 
  • Manage internal and external project reporting.
  • Manage Non Conformance Reports by evaluating the effective implementation of concessions/deviations, corrective action, and preventive action management processes 
  • Auditing – Coordinate client audits and perform audits on suppliers / sub-contractors
  • Change and knowledge management
  • Follow-up of suppliers.

Your starting point when you join

  • University degree MSc, MBA, BSc or similar, preferably in engineering- or QHSER discipline (relevant experience and / or QHSER mindset can compensate).
  • Preferably QHSER experience from marine and/or -manufacturing based industry
  • Self-propelled and ability to be demanding in order to implement and follow-up QHSER requirements
  • Fluent in Norwegian (preferred) and in English, written and oral.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team player and communication skills.
  • You strongly align and identify with Nexans' values.
