WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM
The team with 10 team members located in Oslo and onboard our fleet. Our team is responsible for vessel operation of two CLV vessel and third are to delivered Q 2 2026 ; we handle Vessel Operation and Vessel fleet Management. The workplace is in Oslo and you will be reporting Vessel Operation/Fleet Manager.
GETTING A FLYING START
This role encompasses responsibilities in document control as well as a deputy role related to the DPA function. To succeed in Nexans Vessel Management and Vessel Operation, you have Document controller and DPA experience from the marine shipping industries and vessel operation. Responsibilities Conduct day-to-day operation related activities and support project and DPA/CSO. The Document and administration controller is part of the Nexans vessel operations team.Develop and assist in the QHSE/DPA discipline work.Management and structuring of internal and technical documentation Categorization and management of all documentation related to the shipping company and documentation related to the project.Additional QHSE/DPA responsibility for Nexans Vessel Management AS. The International Safety Management Code (ISM) was the catalyst for the creation of the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) defining the contact point between the shore management and the ship. This person should be responsible for monitoring not only the safe and efficient operation of a ship but also the organization of safety audits, the reporting of deficiencies and the monitoring of corrective actions. At all times be updated and adhere on company procedures, rules and regulations.

Superintendent will support the vessels and projects related topics and will challenge the project and operation on QHSE related matters, initiate improvements and define risk reducing measures. YOUR STARTING POINT
- Ability to prioritize work and response basis time sensitivity activities & being work efficient is crucial.
- Ability to be assertive when coordinating with stakeholders, is equally important - explain and rationalise with facts.

- Responsible for document handling process, quality control distribution and archiving of documentation.
- Ensuring that the documentation handling process towards stakeholders are compliant.
- Be an active contributor in the safety work.
- Support and coordinate the Vessel management as Document controller and Deputy DPA(CSO) functions.
- Aiming for company compliance with regulatory bodies and Nexans Group rules.
- Assist and drive safety programs through vessel organizations.
- Coordinate with Vessel team the Quality performance training and reporting.
- Participate in planning and schedule QHSE/DPA yearly wheel activities.
- Custodian to the IS tools pertaining to QHSE in particular Synergy and Governing documents(EDM), red online, eco-online, process mapping in Signavio etc.
Time management.
- Some business-related travel will be required occasionally – onboard, yard support, QHSE audits onboard the fleet.
- Due to operational requirements, the post holder will need to be contactable always and may have periods of time where longer or unconventional working hours may be required.
- Previous industry or specifically relevant experience (applied to Key Accountabilities) will be essential
Requirements:
- Technical, Marine and project skills
- Fluent in English
- Capacity to make priorities in a difficult environment ,
- Leadership, persuasive and synthesis skills
- Able to work in a multi-cultural environment and manage a worldwide team
- Able to work in a matrix organization
- Seagoing practice as an officer with at least 12 months seagoing practice.
