1. Maintenance and Repair of Equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic issues in machinery, such as extrusion machines, winding machines, and cable assembly equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance to minimize downtime, following plant protocols.
- Replace or fix components such as circuit boards, switches, wiring, fuses, and other electrical parts.
- Identification of electrical problems on production machinery/equipment using multimeter and other instruments.
- Carry out inspections on AVR, capacitor banks and other low voltage switchgears.
2. Installation and Testing of Electrical Systems
- Install, calibrate, and test control systems, sensors, and other electronics to ensure proper operation and quality standards.
- Set up electrical panels, power distribution units, and automation systems as per design specifications.
- Conduct voltage testing, insulation testing, and continuity tests to verify cable and component quality.
3. Quality Control and Safety Compliance
- Ensure all electrical systems and components meet safety and regulatory standards to prevent accidents and malfunctions.
- Perform quality inspections on electrical systems, ensuring compliance with plant and industry standards.
- Document inspection results, maintenance records, and repair activities to keep a clear maintenance history.
4. Support for Process Optimization and Automation
- Assist engineers in implementing process improvements and automation solutions for better efficiency.
- Monitor automated systems and control processes, adjusting electrical and electronic components as needed.
- Help program and troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) or other automated equipment involved in cable production.
5. Inventory Management and Documentation
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and electrical supplies necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Document all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, replacements, and calibrations for tracking and quality assurance.
- Provide input on purchasing parts and upgrades to enhance equipment reliability and plant productivity.
6. Safety:
- To ensure regular identification of SUSA, near miss, etc.
- To adhere to Nexans Safety Golden Rules, procedure for emergency preparedness and response in case of fire, First Aid and oil spillages.
- To adhere to safety regulations whiles handling flammable materials such as solvent, thinner, sawdust, etc.
7. Environment & 5S:
- To ensure 5S at working area.To adhere environmental procedures while handling solvent, thinner, sawdust, etc.
