Le site NEXANS FRANCE de Bourg en Bresse recherche son futur Site Purchasing Leader !
The Site Purchasing Leader defines, implements and manages the site purchasing strategy, Group purchasing processes and the local supplier portfolio. He/She conducts market analysis to identify TCO and cost-saving opportunities, qualifies suppliers within his/her scope, and drives negotiations when required.
For the Bourg-en-Bresse site, the Site Purchasing Leader will oversee the following activities:
- The SPL is responsible for all purchasing activities on the site, regardless of the amounts involved. He/She must define and implement the site's purchasing strategy while meeting the needs of internal customers (quality, cost, lead time, safety, compliance).
- Be responsible for local site purchasing and local vendor management for total expenditure from €0 to €250,000: reassess needs, launch RFI/RFQ, design and implement contracts, and implement and monitor continuous improvement plans.
- Support the definition of category strategies for the Business Units, in line with the Group vision and BU roadmap, and ensure alignment of Group, BU and site purchasing practices.
- Act as level 1 escalation point for PSS operations for the site(s) within his/her responsibility (purchases < €50,000).
- For purchases > €250,000, be responsible of the purchasing strategy, purchasing performance and the implementation of contracts and/or agreements negotiated.
- Collaborate with the non-production purchasing COE for all purchases over €250,000.
- Collaborate with the Category Manager for raw materials of his/her Business Group for all CAPEX and production purchases above €250,000.
- Report to the Plant Manager and act as the guarantor of purchasing performance and all purchasing activities related to the site.
- Ensure full compliance with and deployment of Nexans standard purchasing processes and policies at site level.
- Drive the implementation of transversal Group purchasing initiatives within his/her scope.
- Act as SAP Key-User (MM module) for purchasing-related activities.
For the Plainfaing site, the Site Purchasing Leader will oversee the following specific activities:
- Be responsible for local site procurement on key categories: wood, steel fittings and profiles, plywood, CAPEX, subcontracted activities, and transport.
- Define sourcing strategies, run RFI/RFQ processes, negotiate and manage contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure availability and optimal TCO conditions for the above categories.
- Ensure that Eurocable follows Group purchasing processes and benefits from the best supplier conditions available within Nexans.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement performance and supplier collaboration.
- Report to the Plant Manager on the procurement performance of the site and key purchasing KPIs.
Expected results
- Contribute to the site P&L improvement plan.
- Optimize payment terms in line with Group guidelines to support cash and working capital performance.
- Ensure the deployment and application of Group contracts within his/her scope and Business Unit.
- Increase the use of Group contracts with effective multi-site application whenever relevant.
- Coordinate purchasing results and action plans effectively with the Plant Manager.
- Lead negotiations on strategic projects such as CAPEX investments and key raw materials.
- Identify, assess and mitigate supplier risks and dependencies to secure business continuity.
- Monitor and improve supplier performance (supplier evaluation, audits, development plans, etc.).
- Coordinate purchasing shared services and Centers of Excellence (COE) supporting the site.
Profile & Qualifications
- Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business or equivalent field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in an industrial environment.
- Fluent in spoken and written French and English.
