Nexans has successfully completed the first phase of its "New Nexans" transformation, launched in 2018. This turnaround was achieved through the implementation of the SHIFT programs, which restored profitability and simplified the Group’s portfolio. Building on this foundation, the company has successfully deployed its bold “Winds of Change” strategy, pushing further amplification of successful recipes while aiming to become a pure player within Electrification space. The Group has now entered into a new exciting journey presented at the 2024 Capital Market Day: “Sparking Electrification with Tech solutions”.
This new phase focuses on accelerating growth across Electrification, with a clear strategy to:
- Strengthen the core Grid & Connect businesses,
- Pursue disciplined portfolio rotation through acquisitions in high-growth electrification segments,
- Deliver sustainable value creation through profitable growth, operational excellence, and cash generation.
Within this context, the Finance organization is looking for a skilled individual to:
- Manage the regular update of the modelling tool (Nexans Mid term plan)
- Contribute to strategic projects and financial planning exercises (budgeting, long-term plan, scenarii).
The position will be based in Courbevoie (La Défense) until 2026, and then in Neuilly-sur-Seine following the relocation of Nexans’ headquarters. The role reports to the Group Deputy CFO.
Areas of Responsibility :
Corporate Financial Modelling Activities :
- Maintain, develop, and expand the Group's Financial Corporate Model (mid term plan), which is a crucial decision-making tool for top executives. Ensure the model is kept up-to-date and accurately reflects the financial performance of the company. Continuously improving the model's capabilities to provide more detailed and accurate insights into the company's financial performance.
- Regularly update the Financial Corporate Model, review financial forecasts prepared by operations and compare Nexans' model to research analysts' papers.
- Prepare supporting materials for management in advance of investor conferences and financial results releases, based on the Group's Financial Corporate Model.
- Stay up-to-date with financial and industry trends and incorporating them into the Financial Corporate Model.
- Provide information to the consolidation team to value assets, including impairment testing and deferred tax analysis, contribute to the analysis of these impairment tests.
- Improve the tools used to prepare the mid-term plan, integrate these tools in the “controlling tools” eco-system
- Proactively propose changes to the process so that it also incorporates a top-down approach
The role includes cross-functional responsibilities that require collaboration with employees at all levels of the organization, including senior operations and finance executives. The role also include the preparation of some documentation for the executive committees and the board meetings.
Required skills & qualifications :
- A Master's degree or equivalent in Economics or Finance from a top-tier university.
- A minimum of 5 years of successful experience related to business modeling (through: similar role in another company, transaction service, market analysts, etc.
- Strong quantitative skills, including extensive experience with financial models and valuation techniques.
- Ability to read and understand financial statements, in all aspects (business performance, but also financing & derivatives, tax, etc. ) – good knowledge of IFRS rules.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (knowledge of Power BI is an asset).
- Excellent proficiency in both French and English (oral and written).
- Ability to work effectively in a team and in a culturally diverse environment.
