Purpose (Sum up the position using one or two sentences)

 

The HSE Supervisor ensures compliance with Health & Safety and/or Environmental regulations, policies and rules. He/she endorses an operational role to promote the HSE spirit.

 

Areas of responsibility

 

  • Implementation and monitoring of HSE tools;
  • Leads the dissemination of Nexans policy at the site level. Provides methodology to managers and employees and supports them within their scope to formalize Nexans cross-site processes. Identifies process risks and ensures consistency within and across sites.
  • Drafts and updates procedures and general instructions.
  • Monitors and communicates HSE indicators. Responsible for and monitors the accuracy, updating, and destruction of outdated documents (manual management, process files, management plan, etc.) recorded in the HSE system.
  • Regularly reports results, progress, deteriorations and difficulties encountered to the Factory Manager,

 

Operational implementation of HSE policy

Establishes compatible systems for compliance control.

 

 

Action to achieve HSE targets performance (customer satisfaction rate, accident frequency rate…)

initiates, monitors and manages plans.

Monitors and coordinates continuous improvement action plans on all issues related to its area of responsibility: customer and supplier relationship, product and service quality, efficiency and activities (processes and tools used) performance, control of environmental, occupational health and safety impacts.

Leads work groups and develops problem-solving tools.

Organizes and manages the meeting agenda of the legally obligated OHS committee and internal meetings that do not have a legal obligation.

It issues warnings and announcements about all risky situations it detects. It also stops work if necessary.

Participates in daily, weekly and monthly meetings for HSE areas.

Determines personal protective equipment adapted to the work performed.

Participates in projects and new equipment investment meetings and applies (MOC) change management standards.

Follows up the work of subcontractors (equipment purchase, prevention plan, safety protocol for carriers, measurement equipment control…).

Coordinates and carries out HSE inspections.

Evaluates HSE risks periodically (annual environmental risk analysis, chemical risk analysis…).

Implements Safety Tools: Administrative Staff Occupational Safety Field Audit (Safety Walk), In-Scope Staff Occupational Safety Field Audit (Safety Focus), JSA, Occupational Safety Campaigns, etc.

Legal regulations and applicable rules

Identifies and monitors requirements for:

-health, safety and environmental authorities.

Follows the Legal Regulations and provides assurance.

Monitors and manages the acquisition and maintenance of necessary certificates.

It monitors legal requirements and periodic measurements and ensures that they are repeated regularly (noise level measurement, air quality analysis, all ambient measurements…).

Monitors the suitability of the equipment (fire safety equipment control, crane control, grounding control, etc.).

Education

Manages work safety requirements (fire, first aid, forklift license,…): plans for training and authorization follow-up.

Conducts HSE training and organizes, manages, and conducts on-the-job training for new recruits. Ensures and guides employees in participating in internal/external audits.

Ensures that in-scope and out-of-scope personnel are informed of HSE activities, makes announcements and raises awareness.

Provides and accompanies orientation and on-the-job training to new and temporary workers (if applicable).

Participates in organizational changes, recruitment and decisions to be made in the HSE unit.

Required qualifications and qualifications

 

  • General Education: 4 to 5 years in university (engineering)
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in similar position
