We are a vertically integrated manufacturer and our products are made at facilities located in Quebec, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.
As a Product Manager, you will report to the Sales Director Power Grid&Connect North America and act as a critical link between commercial and operational functions, ensuring that the product portfolio, inventory strategy, and SIOP process are fully aligned with customer demand, market dynamics, and business objectives.
GETTING TO KNOW THE POSITION
One of the strategic orientations that Nexans pursues consists in capturing growth and differentiating its offer by escalading the value chain from the production of cables towards the provision of innovative cable systems and services and solutions to better address the current and future needs of our partners and customers.
The Product Manager’s mission is to lead portfolio management and product positioning for the Canadian Power Grid & Connect market, ensuring that the offer is commercially viable, operationally supported, and aligned with market needs. This is a business-oriented product management role, which the ultimate goal is to strengthen Nexans’ market position and accelerate profitable growth in Canada.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
- Manage the composition of the product portfolio for PWR G&C Canada, including lifecycle oversight, rationalization, and alignment with commercial strategy.
- Act as the interface between Sales and Operations, aligning product offering and availability with real-time market needs and long-term business plans.
- Drive inventory positioning strategies, ensuring optimal stock levels and product availability to support customer expectations and commercial strategy.
- Manage the overall to the SIOP process by collaborating on demand forecasts, supply planning, and capacity alignment with manufacturing and logistics.
- Monitor portfolio performance, track KPIs (volume, margin, availability), and identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Support business development initiatives by identifying product opportunities and market trends.
- Ensure portfolio visibility through accurate product data in internal systems (SAP, customer databases) and effective coordination with Commercial, Operation and Marketing teams.
- Contribute to sourcing strategies, including decisions on local manufacturing, cross-sales, or external sourcing.
- Ensure compliance with internal product and data governance standards.
You will be expected to:
- Build a well-defined, competitive, and strategically aligned product portfolio for the Canadian market and business unit direction
- Develop new products in accordance with market demand and needs
- Improve inventory positioning and supply reliability to meet commercial demand and customer expectations
- Integrate effectively Canadian needs into the regional SIOP process
- Maintain strong coordination between commercial and operational functions
- Increase customer satisfaction through improved availability and faster response times
- Contribute to Canadian revenue growth and margin optimization
- Enhance internal visibility and accuracy of product data and tools
- Make informed decision-making through ongoing portfolio analysis and market input
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE ?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Marketing (MBA or advanced degree is a plus)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product management, supply chain, commercial operations, or related field
- Strong understanding of portfolio strategy, SIOP, and inventory planning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed and fast-paced environment
- Data-driven and analytical with strong organizational skills
- Experience in the energy, cable, or industrial product sectors is a strong asset
