We have been involved in many of the country's most ambitious projects, of such well-known end users like Kahramaa, Qatar Rail, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Foundation, and many others. The plant is among the most advanced Nexans factories in the MENA (Middle-East North Africa) region. Being the worldwide leader in cabling solutions, Nexans has transferred its technology to QICC, which is extremely proud to contribute to the rapid development of Qatar economy aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
In order to support the development and operations of the plant, we are looking to fill the position of PURCHASING MANAGER, under the Purchasing department. The Purchasing Manager, based in Mesaieed, Qatar, reports to the Director of Supply Chain & Continuous Improvement and plays a key role in the restructuring of the Purchasing Department. This role is responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, leading contract negotiations, ensuring policy compliance, and overseeing transactional purchasing processes. The position also includes strategic planning, performance tracking through KPIs, market analysis, and continuous improvement of supplier performance.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the Purchasing Manager is expected to drive operational excellence by aligning local procurement practices with corporate frameworks and regional strategies. They must demonstrate a strong understanding of market dynamics, perform detailed spend and risk analyses, and contribute to financial performance through cost optimization and efficiency improvements. The role involves close coordination with internal stakeholders such as finance and supply chain, ensuring seamless processes from order placement to payment. A proactive mindset, adaptability to change, and the ability to lead and develop a team are essential for success in this position.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 years’ experience (preferably in a cables manufacturing environment).
EDUCATION
- University or College degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Professional designation preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel and manufacturing software (Navision).
- IT support knowledge is would be an asset.
