WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM
You will join the Project Operations organization within Power Transmission, reporting functionally to the Project Management leadership team. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the operational execution of assigned EPC and EPCI projects or project packages, ensuring delivery according to contractual obligations, internal standards, and client expectations.
You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, tender teams, engineering, procurement, installation, and support functions in a highly collaborative matrix organization. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and coordination capabilities across geographically distributed teams and stakeholders.
HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
As Project Manager, you will lead projects from execution through completion, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable delivery in line with Nexans’ Project Model and QHSER standards.
Your key responsibilities include:
Project Execution & Delivery
- Manage assigned EPC/EPCI projects or project packages from execution to handover
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to agreed quality and HSE standards
- Lead geographically distributed and multidisciplinary project teams
- Drive effective coordination between internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance processes
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and opportunities
Financial & Commercial Management
- Own project profit and loss performance within assigned scope
- Monitor project cost, margin, cash flow, invoicing, and forecasting
- Manage intercompany agreements and subcontractor relationships
- Anticipate and mitigate financial, contractual, and commercial risks
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Build strong client relationships and maintain high customer satisfaction
- Adapt communication and project approaches based on client expectations and cultural considerations
- Report project status, progress, deviations, and risks to senior management and steering committees
- Ensure transparent and timely reporting across all project areas
Tender & Continuous Improvement Support
- Contribute to tender activities and risk assessments when required
- Support lessons learned initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Contribute to organizational development, competence sharing, and project management best practices
YOUR STARTING POINT
The best candidates may not meet every requirement, but the following background will help you succeed:
- University degree (MSc, BSc, or equivalent competence)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry and operational EPCI experience
- Proven experience in project management within complex industrial, offshore, energy, or infrastructure projects
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Good commercial and financial understanding with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks
- Ability to coordinate across multiple teams, functions, and locations
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluent English, both written and spoken
