Purpose
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the engineering of High Voltage Accessories (HVA) across all types of projects, including HVDC, HVAC, onshore, and offshore installations.
The Project Engineer will be part of the engineering team and will work in close coordination with the Tendering and Project Execution departments, both locally and internationally, particularly with teams in France and Norway.
Areas of responsibility
- Analyze customer needs and specifications in order to prepare and provide technical proposals to the Sales or Tendering departments.
- Assess risks associated with the High Voltage Accessories (HVA) scope of projects, drive FMECA and propose appropriate mitigation measures.
- Review, prepare, and/or collaborate closely with the Technical Office to deliver engineering documentation for turnkey projects on time, including design reports, drawings, assembly instructions, and inspection test plans, in accordance with customer specifications and international standards.
- Support all stages of the project lifecycle, from the tender phase through project execution.
- Respond to technical inquiries from internal and external customers and escalate issues to other teams when necessary.
- Be responsible for inspection test plans related to assigned turnkey projects and orders and eventually coordinate factory acceptance tests (FAT) with customers if required
- Propose technical, innovative, and cost-effective solutions to ensure product compliance with customer specifications.
- Assist with special projects as assigned by management.
- Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., root cause analysis and improvement projects) within the project scope.
Required skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree / EPF / HES in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanics, or a closely related technical field
- 3–5 years of experience in a regulated industry, ideally in HV systems
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools
- Experience working with an ERP system such as SAP
- Experience using CAD software
- Fluent in French and English (written and spoken)
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability and willingness to produce clear and structured documentation
- Strong customer orientation
- Ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams
- Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written), with the ability to quickly build effective professional working relationships
