Context

• This role is essential to develop customer-oriented sustainable offers and ensure the successful execution and delivery (Time to Market & added value).

Purpose

The Global Solution Architect will:

• Analyze technology environment and assess competitiveness of Nexans technical solutions
• Design, modify, and test technical architecture answering problems to solve for customers/partners
• Work with vertical offer directors & product managers for offer selection & value propositions for each key player in the value chain. Recommend or is consulted for offers prioritization.
• Customize and support for platinum accounts and/or key deals
• Advocate Nexans technical solutions in segment-oriented conferences/ events/customer meetings to reinforce company branding and technology thought leadership
• Provide inputs and feedback for horizontal new offer creation
• Deliver engineering study requested by customer for big project

Area of responsibilities

Global Solution Architect will have following responsibilities across business segments:

• Analyzed technology environment and assess competitiveness of Nexans technical solutions:
  • Continually research the current and emerging technologies per priority segment
  • Make the technical solution mapping and benchmark of Nexans vs. major competitors per segment & geography
  • Assess the business impact that certain technical choices have
• Design, modify, and test technical architecture answering problems to solve for customers/partners
  • Understand the value chain, key stakeholders and their pain points, and key success factors for each segment
  • Design and test the technical architecture and make sure the requirements of each key stakeholder are well considered
  • Create and test solution prototypes
• Work with vertical offer directors & product managers for offer selection and value proposition of each priority segment
  • Provide inputs and feedback on offer selection and value proposition
  • Inform various internal stakeholders about any issues/risks with the current technical solutions being implemented
  • Recommend or is consulted for offers prioritization.
• Customize and support for platinum accounts and/or key deals
  • Support vertical offer directors BDs, key account managers for prescription
  • Build the most optimized & competitive solution proposal for platinum accounts and/or key deals
  • Participate in customer meetings and influence customers for architecture and product selection
• Support and deliver engineering study for big customer projects
  • Understand customer needs and clarify customer request
  • Deliver engineering study report in time in full according to customer request
  • Collect customer feedback after report delivery

Expected results

• Set up & build technical architecture according to segments
• Write target application notes with contents validated by innovation solution director & offer directors
• Effective external publications, conferences, events, white paper
• Participate and be sharp during technical discussions with platinum clients
• Pro-active in prescription with platinum clients
• Effective communication with clear presentations to all stakeholders

Position sizing

• Collaborate with vertical offer directors, product managers, key account managers, Regions/BUs application engineers
• Be a key element for the growth and margin of the market division, be effective in information sharing and product/solution selection decision

Required skills and qualifications

• Education background: BAC + 5, Engineer
• Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and multitask efficiently
• Proficiency in electrical engineering at system level
• Minimum 5 years proven track record in electrical design architecture
• Result-driven, good analytical skills
• Excellent presentation and data processing skills
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Electrical industry background
• Fluent in English and French. German is a plus
